To Dan Rather:

I heard you say the other night that Bill Clinton might be having a daily talk show on your channel. I sure hope that is not the case because we the American people have heard, seen and been embarrassed by the "worst president" we ever had in America.

I know  he is still the darling of you liberal anchors and I hope we are spared the horror of seeing him everyday.

In the event you do have the poor judgment and taste to hire him, you will no longer be known as CBS but as ClintonBS.

Sincerely,
Betty

He should abandon plans to host a daily "Oprah"-style gabfest and go for a more prestigious spot anchoring one of the premier Sunday public affairs shows like NBC's "Meet the Press," CBS's "Face the Nation," or ABC's "This Week."

Roll over, Jerry Springer

The new ringmaster of afternoon TV sleaze will be Bill Clinton, if CBS has its way.

The one-time Tiffany Network and the impeached ex-president’s minions are negotiating... the New York Times reported today.

"CBS executives consider the talks preliminary and say that a number of hurdles remain, including a significant difference over money. But these executives, as well as NBC executives who have talked with Mr. Clinton, said that he had offered assurances that under the right circumstances he would be the host of a talk show.”

Dear Senator:

When are you going to stop fooling around investigating Vice President Cheney for Halliburton. Vice President Cheney was forced to sell because all of you democrats were complaining about a conflict of interest.

If your party had provided an honest, moral, intelligent, trustworthy man for president, we would not have all the problems Clinton caused. Mr. Ruben was his man. You need to ask some questions of Rubin as he was privy to lots of information on companies at the time.

Sincerely,
Betty

Charles Krauthammer
Open Season On Cheney
"Cheney did not sell his stock because he had inside knowledge that the stock market -- and his company's shares -- were headed south. He was forced to sell his stock when he was chosen by George Bush to be his running mate.

"He wasn't dumping. He didn't want to sell. In fact, the big brouhaha [by the democrats] at the time was Cheney's wanting to retain some of his stock options. He sold purely to avoid conflicts of interest."

Rubin, Lieberman and Lay
Washington Times
"...On Nov. 8, former Clinton Administration Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin made a highly inappropriate telephone call to Peter Fisher, the Democratic undersecretary of Treasury for domestic finance. At the time, Enron's stock price was below the level that would trigger a requirement for Enron to immediately repay billions of dollars in loans to its creditor banks, a development that would lead to Enron's bankruptcy...Mr. Rubin audaciously asked Mr. Fisher to intercede with the agencies on Enron's behalf. Mr. Fisher refused.

A Rubin spokesman has said [Rubin] "had prefaced the call (to Fisher) by saying, 'This may not be the best idea,' and in the end agreed with Fisher that it wasn't a good idea." - Associated Press

The Senate is not calling Rubin to testify.
